Since Im seeing a midwife, I don’t have a regularly scheduled 20 weeks ultrasound so I decided today to give the local ultrasound place a call. They have an ad in a flyer for $25 off a 3d ultrasound. I called up and was told that I must be at least 30 weeks in order for them to do it. I thought that was a bit odd, I mean if I wanted to pay for an ultrasound shouldn’t I be able to do it at anytime? But that’s okay, it wasnt what I was after anyway. I asked about a gender ultrasound, I told her I was 16 weeks along and just wanted to find out the gender. She told me a price of $65 for that and then asked me when my diagnostic ultrasound had been. I told her I didn’t have one, nor would I get one since they aren’t routine for midwives to order. She was really rude and short with me after that saying how I should call back after my diagnostic ultrasound and how SHE had never been to a midwife (uh….k? that’s great lady….) I explained once again that I will not be having a diagnostic ultrasound done, its not a routine thing to do but she said good bye and hung up. So I cant have an ultrasound because I haven’t had an ultrasound. Yah, it confused me too. But if this business doesn’t want my money they wont be getting it. I will make an appointment with the ultrasound place my midwife recommended. I tried the local place first because its local and easier for me to make arrangements for care for the boys while Im getting scanned. But it looks like Ill be heading to Vegas for a wonderful experience. The place I plan on going to comes very highly recommended. Now just to get my husband to get a day off so we can get up there!
